When to Mount the Transponder<\/h2>\n

Transponders should be mounted when temperatures inside the car are 50-85 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n

Where to Place the Transponder<\/h2>\n

The transponder goes on the inside of the windshield close to the rearview mirror. Place the transponder as high and as central on the windshield<\/strong> as possible<\/strong>. Tip: Place the transponder slightly to the right of the rearview mirror<\/strong> so it is not in the driver\u2019s field of vision.<\/p>\n

Make sure the transponder is at least three inches away from any metal, tint, antennae or defroster. <\/strong>Also, avoid the black dots that may surround the rearview mirror<\/strong>. They can keep the transponder from being read accurately.<\/p>\n

How to Apply the Transponder<\/h2>\n

RiverLink Local Transponder<\/h3>\n

  • Clean the inside of the windshield thoroughly and allow it to dry.<\/li>\n
  • Determine where you want to place the transponder (see tips above).<\/li>\n
  • Remove the backing from the sticker.<\/li>\n
  • Place the sticker on the inside of the windshield so the text on the transponder is right-side-up and visible from the inside of the vehicle<\/li>\n
  • Gently press to smooth out any bubbles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    RiverLink E-ZPass Transponder<\/h3>\n

    • Clean the inside of the windshield thoroughly and allow it to dry.<\/li>\n
    • Determine where you want to place the transponder (see tips above).<\/li>\n
    • Remove the plastic tape from the adhesive strips on the back of the transponder.<\/li>\n
    • Place the transponder on the inside of the windshield so the text on the transponder is right-side-up and visible from the inside of the vehicle<\/li>\n
    • Hold the transponder to the windshield firmly for a few seconds.<\/li>\n
    • Repeat this process for every vehicle you plan to use the E-ZPass transponder in. Additional adhesive strips are available at RiverLink customer service centers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
