How to Get a Transponder
If you are new to RiverLink, you can get a transponder by opening a prepaid account or picking up a RiverLink Starter Kit. See below for details.
If you already have a prepaid account, simply log in to manage your account and then update your license plate information to get a transponder.

Option 1: Open a Prepaid Account
Personal and commercial accounts can be opened online, by phone or in person at a RiverLink customer service center.
Online
- Create a RiverLink Account Online and then log in to the account
- Add money to the account*
- Add the vehicle(s) to your license plate list
- Transponder(s) will be mailed free of charge within about 10 business days

Tip: To order one E-ZPass transponder for multiple vehicles, choose a RiverLink E-ZPass transponder for the first vehicle and then click the “Use Existing” box for the others.
By Phone
- Call 1-855 RIV-LINK (748-5465) to open an account
- Add money to the account*
- Tell the customer service representative which type of transponder you want for each vehicle you are adding to the account
- Transponder(s) will be mailed free of charge within about 10 business days
In Person
- Visit a RiverLink customer service center to open an account
- Add money to the account*
- Tell the customer service representative which type of transponder you want for each vehicle you are adding to the account
- Receive your transponder(s) from the customer service representative
Option 2: Purchase a RiverLink Starter Kit
Customers do not need to register the transponder or their car to use the starter kit transponder. However, the transponder can be added to a prepaid account later if desired. By doing so, customers will enjoy the full benefits of a RiverLink prepaid account, including no reloading fees, access to auto-replenishment and access to account statements.
